  10. In the last two weeks I have had 3 new customers come on board and try to 
  11. get trumpet winsock to work with their Compaq Presarios and and internal 
  12. compaq modem.  No luck.  Does not even issue the atdtxxx command in the 
  13. trumpet script. They are successful in getting dialtones and getting out 
  14. with other software.  One customer said he had problems with AOL and could 
  15. not connect properly. Trumpet version is 2.0B.  Compaq says it is not their 
  16. problem.  When one of the customers got an external modem to connect he was 
  17. partly succesfull.  Still some intermitent problems.

  19. Today I had a Compaq Presario customer with windows 95 and Compaq internal 
  20. 19.2 modem, model 192 data + fax, voice + voice.  That is what the customer 
  21. said.  We could not even connect with Hyperterminal.  First time I heard 
  22. that.  Modem connects then never handshakes properly. It just disconnects.  
  23. I went through the modem set ups and we tried setting baud to various rates 
  24. but were not able to connect.  He had same problem with this computer/modem 
  25. connecting to his work computer so it is not me.

  27. I can't belive that an organization like Compaq would put out hardware that 
  28. is this problematic.  All help is appreciated asap.
